CarPlay is a smarter, safer way to use your iPhone in the car. CarPlay takes the things you want to do with your iPhone while driving and puts them right on your car’s built-in display. Apple introduced CarPlay alongside iOS 9, but it's taken a while for auto manufacturers to adopt the new technology.
What is CarPlay?
CarPlay uses a touchscreen interface that any iPhone user is immidiialtey familiar with. There's even a home button on the bottom left of the screen! With a CarPlay equipped vehicle, a user connects their iPhone once, and can begin to use iMessages, Phone, Calendar, iBooks, and many other Apple Apps while interacting with the built in dashboard navigation system in their vehicle. App supported by CarPlay are fairly limited right now, but Apple will undoubtedly expand the CarPlay app ecosystem as more testing and regulations are standardized for developers.
